Performance Pistol
The Performance Pistol course is built for shooters ready to move past foundational handgun skills and into real-world defensive performance. This class focuses on efficient gun handling, disciplined accuracy, and decision-making as complexity increases. Students progress from controlled, static drills to dynamic engagements involving multiple targets, varied threat zones, movement, and realistic defensive scenarios. The goal is to develop adaptable, repeatable skills that hold up under pressure.
Course Overview
This course refines core pistol skills through practical, performance-driven training. Students will work to:
- Develop efficient draw strokes and consistent presentations from ready positions
- Deliver accurate hits on single and multiple targets at varied distances
- Engage effectively while moving and when working from cover
- Improve one-handed shooting proficiency with both dominant and support hands
- Maintain precision as shooting speed increases
- Apply movement techniques, including entering and exiting shooting positions and shooting on the move
- Strengthen fundamentals, weapon manipulation, and real-time decision-making

- Meeting realistic standards for speed and accuracy
Required Gear
- Quality centerfire semi-automatic pistol (full-size or compact)
Not permitted: revolvers, .22 caliber pistols, micro or pocket pistols
- Minimum of three magazines with magazine pouches
- Strong-side belt or hip holster (IWB holsters not allowed)
- Sturdy belt, long pants with belt loops, closed-toe footwear
- Crew-neck or button-up shirt
- Wraparound ballistic eye protection
- Electronic or dual hearing protection (recommended)
- Hydration, weather-appropriate clothing, and basic cleaning kit
- Optional: body armor
Ammunition Requirement
- Minimum of 500 rounds of pistol ammunition
