Course Overview
This course equips law enforcement personnel with the practical knowledge and hands-on skills required to effectively deploy manual breaching tools during tactical operations. Students will develop a working understanding of tool selection, operational considerations, and tactical integration. Emphasis is placed on safe application, decision-making under operational conditions, and the ability to confidently apply and instruct foundational breaching techniques within a team environment.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify common manual breaching tools and understand their tactical applications.
- Properly deploy the ram, halligan, sledgehammer, and multi-tool in a controlled and safe manner.
- Evaluate the strengths and limitations of each tool across varying operational scenarios.
- Integrate manual breaching techniques into tactical law enforcement operations.
- Execute fundamental breaching package procedures.
- Assess door and window construction types and recognize structural considerations relevant to breaching.
- Gather, analyze, and apply breaching intelligence to support operational planning.
- Operate effectively as part of a breaching element, demonstrating team-based skills including formation, movement, communication, firearms handling, and suspect management.
Course Format

Student Requirements
- This course will utilize a working lunch — participants should bring their own lunch.
- Students are encouraged to bring any breaching tools currently issued or utilized by their agency for integration into training.
